Press Your Poem with Holly Wren Spaulding

February 29, 2016

We've got a new workshop that we've just added to our spring workshop calendar!

Press A Poem: A Letterpress Poetry Workshop

Saturday, April 9, 10-2  at Big Wheel Press, Cottage Street Studios, Suite 520, Easthampton, MA

In this 4 hour hands-on workshop we’ll create original poems using found text and a process of "erasure". All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring a short poem of your own (no more than 30 words, please) if you would prefer to print that instead. Next, participants will learn basic type composition and other letterpress basics, including how to cast letters in hot lead, and how to lock-up and print a form. We’ll print our poems on the Vandercook cylinder press, or one of the many hand operated platen presses found at Big Wheel Press. Leave with a set of limited edition postcards or broadsides. No previous experience necessary.

Taught by Bill Muller of Big Wheel Press & Holly Wren Spaulding of Poetry Forge

$65, Limited to 12. Registration required via Holly's website:
